Epigenetic Inheritance of Trauma

What we know, and what we do not yet know, about heritable stress signatures in animal and human cohorts.

Evidence that certain stress-induced methylation patterns can be passed one or two generations in animals has been overread into firm claims about humans. The LHS Lens treats inheritance at the cellular layer as the biological substrate of the inherited-conditioning phenomena the framework describes at the narrative layer — with caution that inheritance at the cellular layer does not license the popular-genre narratives.
